The key objective of Pulse Check is to determine the state of current and future Board mix of experiences and skills based on desired impact and outcomes of the organisation’s strategic plan.

High performance boards are characterised by a diversity of experience, expertise and skills, thereby bringing different perspectives for better and more effective decision making. A high performing board enhances a non-profit organisation’s resilience as it works towards achieving its mission and goals.

Pulse Check is a diagnostic process that focuses the board on understanding the critical importance and direct link between the strategic plan and the board’s expertise required to achieve the plan. It is targeted at Board members and Executive Directors/Chief Executive Officers.

A Pulse Check engagement consists of an online self-assessment survey (identifying experience areas, competencies, diversity and dynamics within the Board) and a facilitated workshop to interpret results and develop action plans.

Pulse Check is VCF funded.
